Asti is one of Piedmont's gastronomic capitals: it sits halfway between the Langhe and Monferrato and has a table tradition of meats, stuffed pastas, wines and desserts of ancient memory. If it's your first time in town, here's a small guide to what to order.
Start with a classic Piedmontese starter like vitello tonnato or carne cruda all'albese. Continue with an egg-pasta first course: agnolotti del plin or tajarin with ragù. As a main, try the brasato al Barolo or the bollito misto with its sauces. And close with the bonet, the typical Monferrato cocoa and amaretti dessert. Full descriptions in our guide to Piedmontese cuisine.
All these dishes we propose at La Douia, on Piazza Medici 27 in the centre of Asti: discover the full menu or go straight to the contact page to book. Back to the La Douia homepage for all info.
